Is Your Life Process Driven?

Acrylic Fluid Painting

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the process, about the journey.

Process-Driven Sports

I follow Positive Coaching Alliance. The other day, I saw this video, which made me think:

“Responsible Sports – Process Driven”

I thought about my family’s favorite philosophy when our kids were competitive figure skaters. Even though the rewards of winning can be great, it really is all about the journey.

Process-Focused Art

I research lots of posts about kids’ activities for my Living Montessori Now blog. I’ve been seeing a similar emphasis in blog posts about children’s art lately. While I do have holiday crafts on my kids’ holiday Pinterest boards, I have many examples of process art in my Kids’ Art Projects Pinterest board.

I love crafts for kids for helping develop skills and the ability to follow a sequence of steps, but I still feel it’s most important for kids to have lots of opportunities for process art. The process really is more important than the product.

Process-Driven Life

I also saw a quote that I especially liked this week:

“I don’t believe in failure. It is not failure if you enjoyed the process.” Oprah Winfrey

So true about life in general. It really is all about the journey.

  1. I think sport at least for me is what my life is driven by, without my soccer team I dunno what I would`ve done.

  3. Hi, I’m here from Michelle’s ƪ(◔‿◔)╯ and you are so right, so, so, so right – the journey – that’s the thing. The little graces in each moment, the lesson that Ann teaches us as we count, and what you’ve reminded me of today, to stop, look around, have my goals, be driven, but see God in the moments, feel his spirit move through me, learned the little lessons, be on the way, but smell the posies by the side of the path. So thank you for this reminder – I. Am. Reminded. And God bless you Deb, and God bless each and every one of yours.

  4. I would have to agree hat in my opinion the journey is definitely the rewarding part, not necessarily the end or the win.
