Are You Treasuring the Time You Have with Your Children?

My husband and I recently returned from spending ten days with our kids/kid-in-love in San Diego. There’s nothing that’s more special to us than spending time with our family.

As an empty nester, I can definitely say it’s true that children grow up too fast and that you’ll never regret treasuring the time you have with your children.

One of my  favorite quotes about parenthood is by Elizabeth Stone: “Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” I feel that always … when I’m with my kids and when we’re living a few states away.” And I’m very grateful that we’re all on the same continent now.

Two of the things I’m most proud of that my husband and I did as parents are (1) following our children’s interests (which gave us all amazing experiences and helped our children find successful careers in fields of their interests) and (2) spending lots of quality time with our children.

Luckily for us, as homeschoolers my husband and I were able to spend more time with our children than most parents can. Although not all parents can spend that much time with their children, all parents can work on truly appreciating the time they do have.

These clips aren’t all about parents and children, but they are very moving reminders to appreciate the time you have with your family:
